Dana Houshiar’s images explore the documentation of people and their working environments through portraiture and observational photography, often within culinary spaces. Several years working in professional kitchens, including fine-dining environments, shaped his lasting interest in documenting the individuals and communities behind food culture.
His images combine first-hand experience, formal photographic training, commissioned work within the culinary industry, and time assisting professional photographers and food stylists, allowing him to approach each project with a focus on creating engaging photographic narratives and a distinct visual style.
Born in Iran and now based in the UK, Houshiar brings a cross-cultural perspective to his work and approaches each project with curiosity, attention to detail, and an emphasis on human connection.
